I apologise to all my loyal friends and followers for this long absence, the longest from blogging since I started. The last few months have been difficult ones and I have not been well.
Last year my daughter, who lives in Australia, had to have two operations and we feared she had cancer. Luckily, it was pre cancerous cells and she underwent surgery followed by radiotherapy and a recent MRI shows all is clear.
It is difficult to describe how I felt through those months. She did not want me to come to Australia as she said it would worry her so I stayed at home. I lived with the fear that she might die. Minds riot when you are awake at night and fearing the worst.
We also have some other family health issues and, suddenly, out of the blue all this hit me and I just had a complete meltdown complete with panic attacks and unable to sleep or function. I have now sought help and am getting back to normal but it is a slow process. What is going to help is that next week I am going to Australia and will be there for a month and cannot wait to see Kathryn again.
I am writing this post now because I do not want all my lovely friends to think I have just abandoned Random Jottings and to update you. My reading over the last few months has been of the comfort kind, romances, cosy mysteries and my go to in times of trouble, Austen and Dickens.
There have been various tennis tournaments on which have helped and also I have been watching really naff TV which I all I could cope with!
While this was going on I revived my interest in embroidery which I used to do in my teens and I have found it very theraputic and helpful.

I will be posting from Australia with lots of pics of sunny beaches to make you all jealous….
Once again my thanks to you all and Hello again
