just to let you all know that I am currently on holiday in Italy. My daughter, Kathryn is over from Oz and she and I flew out to Verona yesterday and then our taxi met us at the airport and here we are in Riva on Lake Garda. Baggage drop, security etc at Gatwick all very smooth and stress free and flight fine. Off the plane, through passport control, baggage collected in twenty minutes. That does not happen very often….
However, the taxi driving us to Riva took over two hours. Traffic at a standstill becaue of an accident so by the time we arrived we were really tired. So late there was no food available but Kathryn had had the foresight to buy a couple of sandwiches at Gatwick so a quick cuppa and a cheese and ham nibble later and off to sleet.
Pulled the curtains back this morning and this is what met our gaze. Beautiful. Breakfast and a swim and then James and Helen and Florence and Beatrice arrived at luncthime. Is there anything better than having your grandchildren running towards you shouting Grandma and flinging themselves into your arms?
Not really….
