Not much time recently for a Ramble and/or a Rant but with Wimbers starting next week and the certain appearance of Pippa bloody Middleton in the Royal Box with her wanker boyfriend, whoops that should be banker, so sorry, I have no doubt my rantometer will be hoiked up to boiling point.
I will also be on the look out for zooming camera shots of Maria Shriekerova every time her rather hot boyfriend Dimitrov is playing. He won Queen's last week and honestly, he played the final shot and the poor sod was totally abandoned by the BBC cameras as they zoomed in the on the Queen of Shriek.
Actually I say, Dimitrov is rather hot but not sure he is actually. A lot of people seem to think so and he really is rather sweet and has a lovely smile and plays great tennis. But check out his legs. Skinny? what do you
think?
You can see I have studied form ready for the off which is tomorrow. My friends have all had emails, telephone calls and communication from me and they all know that is the last they will hear from me for some time and wo betide anybody who calls me in the middle of a five set Murray/Nadal match or whoever.
Have been busy since my return from Yorkshire. Oh it was lovely there and planning a return already. Since being back I have been zapping up to London to look after grandchildren and helping out. Last Friday, Florence was taking part in a dance show at her school and my son in law James and I went along as Helen was stuck in a conference. I was immediately transported back in time to the days of sitting in school halls watching Kathryn/Helen in shows and concerts none of which I missed if I could help it. All these little children came out in various costumes and looking excited and happy and craning their necks to see their parents who were all waving like mad, and I was off. First dance, a cowboy dance had the audience yelling Yee Ha and clapping in time and I felt tears welling up and none of these children had anything to do with me at all. Florence then appeared and I sat there with a grin and a beam from ear to ear and resorted to the Kleenex.
The family make their move to Ealing in a week or two after months of renting and it is going to be lovely to have them settled there and no more toing and froing. I shall be spending a lot of time there and the grandparents on both sides have already filled up slots to help with childcare over the summer months. I have made myself a spreadsheet so I know what I am doing.
A happy time all round and I feel very lucky and blessed.
It is the Felixstowe Book Festival this weekend and I will be there introducing various authors including, naturally, my own darling daughter Helen who is giving a talk on her book Women of the World which I will be reviewing in full this week. She has had many reviews in the papers and has been on the radio and Woman's Hour and I am so proud of her I could burst.
But I won't because it would be a bit messy.
And an early night methinks, the combination of heat and hayfever has rather tired me out today.
