RANDOM JOTTINGS

A blog about music, sports, theatre and rants

I am not one to hide my light under a bushel and right now I am bursting with pride and admiration for my lovely, talented and clever daughter Helen, who has managed to write a wonderful book while looking after a toddler, produce another child, hold down a full time job and tolerate her mother telling her that she needs to get Florence's hair cut and goodness me, don't you ever bleach your sink?

I have started to read my advance copy and while I know I am biased (really???) I have found it engaging and immensely readable from the start.  I had only read a chapter or two when Helen was proofing and it is simply wonderful to hold this book in my hands.

Here is a selfie or moi and The Book. Have already done one on Twitter but no make up on and I looked like the wrath of God so put a bit of slap on and did it again.   And my apologies as my finger is right over the author's name but in case I have not told you it is HELEN MCCARTHY.   Sorry to shout but just want to make sure you get it right…

Helen will be appearing at the Felixstowe Book Festival the weekend of 28 and 29 June and I know I have already mentioned this already, but I simply don't want anybody to miss out and, of course, I want a full house for my daughter.

If you click on the right hand box at the top of my page you can get straight through to Amazon and can put in a pre-order.

Go on, you know it makes sense….
