The winner of the Prize Draw for the selected Letters of Charles Dickens is

She was the only entrant who chose my favourite character as one of hers – Aunt Betsy Trotwood from David Copperfield. So thank goodness I did not have to put names in the hat and pull them out.
I told you it was arbitrary didn't I?
All the other characters named all had wonderful reasons for their choosing and Linda Gillard's choice of Sydney Carton certainly made me stop and think, but in the end it is always Aunt Betsy for me, one of Dicken's most lovable and humane characters who I love dearly.
