Yes I am off again – this time to Leicestershire where I will not be lying on a beach and soaking up the sunshine (though it is rather a nice day at time of writing)….
I know that Random readers have already heard me going on endlessly about how wonderful it is to have time to myself, no more commuting blah blah blah, and here I go again as I am not yet used to this wonderful feeling of freedom. I have been working non-stop since 1964 so it may take me some years yet to adjust. I am not complaining about this at all and hope that my enthusiasm for my retirement continues. Lots of interesting things happening at the moment and I am going to be taking up a local post which is soing to be most enjoyable – more of that later.
So this weekend I am in Quorn with my sister and her husband and they have had my mother with them for a week or so and I will be bringing her back on Monday. In between I am taking part once more in a fund raising activity, you may remember I visited back in March and had a bookstall in Quorn Village Hall where, apparently, I sold more books than anybody else had done before. Probably had a great deal to do with me pouncing on everyone who even looked vaguely interested and did not let them go until they had departed with a carrier bag full and a dazed expression on their faces.
I have three boxes of books to take u with me and Judith assures me there are loads more waiting in her garage and she has taken the precaution of taking two tables at this particular fair and it is all going to be huge fun. Driving up this afternoon, fish and chip supper and then a quiz night at the local pub in evening, tomorrow organising and marking and sorting books, then event on Sunday. As I am going to be very busy I am making sure that I set the video for the Saturday evening for Strictly Come Dancing (about which I am dying to write) and then Emma on Sunday, going from the ridiculous to the sublime really when you think about it.
I am setting this to pop up on Saturday morning, pace Typepad, and also another on Sunday and then back on Monday.
