RANDOM JOTTINGS

A blog about music, sports, theatre and rants

Have spent the day tidying up, finishing off and shopping for things like a new kitchen bin, washing up bowl and other similar exciting things.  Clock back up on the wall, few more plates and things sorted, still arranging cupboards so am feeling brain dead and not up to posting today.

Back tomorrow.

Au reservoir.

Even though you’re tired, I’ll bet you have actually enjoyed shopping for our new kitchen! It’s like playing house as a child! I do something like this in spring and autumn, when I move ornaments … I go to my Resources cupboard and bring out things I’ve not used in ages and put them somewhere different in the house, or change chairs around, i.e. the one in the hall goes to the desk, the table in the hall gets moved where the chair went … glassware and pink lustre goes on show in the spring/summer, and around October is replaced by copper lustre, Royal Doulton vases and treen … this way we don’t get tired of the same things around all the time.
But it’s good to replace things like washing up bowls and sundry kitchen items. We used to participate in holiday house exchanges and this was a very good way to asses what needed replacing before a family used our home. Was the frying pan too scratched? Did the pillows need replacing? What about that manky can opener?
But have a good rest and enjoy your sparkling new kitchen!
