I discovered the above book shop last week and it is now on my list of places to visit regularly, being about half an hour’s drive away and in Harwich, which I like very much indeed. Spent a happy hour rummaging around and came out with a couple of titles: A Penguin Modern Classic edition of The Rector’s Daughter by F M Mayor and a selection of Fairy Tales and Legends by Hand Anderson which is illustrated by Rex Whistler and is a delight. The illustrations are superb and, what is more, when I hold the book to my nose, it has that lovely musty old book smell. Gorgeous! Not much reading or posting this week but will have more time at the weekend. In the meantime, I shall bombard you with photographs instead.

It’s the wooden bookcase crammed with books-for-sale that does it, isn’t it? The equivalent of a tractor beam on a spaceship.
